[Kavita] USB Sync for devices

Idea Description

Kavita is awesome when I have to share my ebook collection with my family / friends, but I would also like a way to sync to my kindle / phone. The emailing feature only works with an SMTP setup when self-hosting and locks me into Amazon ecosystem which I don't like.

A usb sync like the one in calibre would be awesome. I understand it won't work as seamlessly as a native app on PC, but I believe it'll still be workable via Web Filesystem APIs (or maybe WebUSB in case some readers don't support the mass storage option).
This would give the user complete control over loading books to their devices and be free from limitations like 25 books only at a time, can add all formats supported by the reader and not just the ones supported by manufacturer's email service etc.

The email system works with any device that can have email. Kindle is just one option. Likewise, you can also use download feature.

USB/file interaction is not something I'm interested in bringing into Kavita. It's way outside of scope for the project.

Not to mention Amazon is (did?) kill this feature for kindles. They want a walled garden where the only way to read is from their store.

The real answer here is to use a device that respects the consumer and move away from Amazon.

I guess I'll just hack together a chrome extension that does the USB sync.

On the part about deprecated feature, I believe it only affects books purchased on their store so a USB sync should still be achievable by treating kindle as a mass storage device. Moving away from Amazon might be a solution in the short term, but the manufacturers will always do what makes sense for their business, at which point consumer will be again forced to switch to someone else (and wasted their time and money along the way) due to which I think it's not really the real answer.
