Using vitest with reown?

I'm trying to cut over from rainbowkit to reown, but i get Error: AppKit:getUniversalProvider - Cannot create provider when running vitest. I couldn't find any documentation on how to enable reown for testing mode/browserless mode but I haven't seen any bug reports or discussion about it so I thought maybe I'm just missing something obvious.

Gm - are you following https://docs.reown.com/appkit/migration/from-rainbowkit-next?

We are using vitest ourselves so maybe the AppKit tests themselves can help to set this up.

I've also hit this. I ran the debugger and found that the error is UniversalProvider.init is not a function. It looks like UniversalProvider is being converted from CJS or export incorrectly or something as it has this structure:
{UniversalProvider: ƒ, default: ƒ, __esModule: true}

the default has the init method in it.

So the default export is being made here:

Which means that this happens:

You can avoid the warnings by forcing all files to use named export mode via output.exports: "named". In that case, the default export needs to be accessed via the .default property of the export:
