I didn't find this issue but added this PR #2060 which would add this library but with the name netcdf/4.7.4.
Would it be better to name the library netcdf-c in stead?
I am also planning to add netcdf-cxx once I am done with netcdf.

It probably should have been named netcdf-c indeed, but 1 hour ago it was merged as netcdf, not sure if we can change it now without causing major pain 😓

Yes it could have been named netcdf-c. In the meantime, it's netcdf in many package managers
