After our 1st dev call last month, here's a preliminary agenda for the next one, scheduled for the 8 March 2019.

Feel free to add any discussion points here or ask me to add them on slack.

Short write-up:

  • Not sure that splitting the package would make a big difference. There might be some opportunity to reduce the number of dependencies, but probably not that much. Let's see where we stand with the future developments.

  • Actions to promote MSnbase and invite other developers to use it instead of mzR for raw data

    • Mention MSnbase in mzR's DESCRIPTION file, manual pages and vignette.
    • Publish new MSnbase infrastructure.
    • Disseminate the message with Martin Morgan/Bioc-core and bioc-devel.
  • The Backend class is close to ready.

  • See Assays in MSnExperiments #444 for summary on the experiment/spectra/assay discussion.

  • Follow-up: how to read data in: constructors, readMSnData, ... which objects?

Next: to be determined, possibly next week to finalise the experiment design discussion and the follow-up point.
