Cross posting nodejs/node#10117 to keep track of the release of Node.js 8.0.0 and coordinate the release of a corresponding Docker Image.

I would love it if a part of the release process of node itself was a PR to this repo. Maybe not viable?

@SimenB yeah, we would love that as well. However, the process of getting new official into Docker Hub is asynchronously due to the required approval by Docker Inc. for all versions. However, we should have the PRs ready as soon as the new versions goes out.

GG.. now I can't use docker to test the new version out have to stick to nvm for now.

PR to the official Docker Image is up at docker-library/official-images#2997. This needs to be approved by Docker Inc. before the new image tag is available on Docker Hub and Docker Store.
