It would be convenient to people if they could install Wordpress automagically, like what MIT does. It should...

  • install Wordpress (aka extract the latest zip file)
  • configure mysql (and email?) automatically
    • aside: I've seen mail being taken over and used for spam, can we do some smart outbound mail spam detection? It doesn't need to block or leak message content, just warn "hey, vhost blah sent an email that has a really high spam score, it was blocked"
  • setup an admin user with a random, secure password
  • install some plugins to make sure people don't change their password to hunter2
  • enable automatic updates
    • for WordPress
    • for Plugins
  • install the themes that someone bought for everyone to use? I remember seeing an rt ticket about these (edit: Provide ASUC Wordpress themes to student orgs #11)

This is under an overarching goal of better OCF services through the web and I'd love to see it happen

I guess just utilize some functionalities with wp, I'll dig into it after I finish Kancolle
