Failed to sign in copilot

I can't access copilot chat in Codespaces. I run into an error "failed to sign into GHE.com". I can't sign in whether ghe.com or through github. I've seen a similar forum for fixing this issue in VS code, but I don't see how the suggested solutions work for codespaces
