Hide Column Filter Icon

I want to filter data without having to display filter icon. For dropdown types, item selection, for InputText, enter key press can be tirggered ops. I tried to hide the filter icon with the following css definitions ;
How can I hide this button by keeping filter functionality with enter key press, or item selection ?

As a second solution alternative, I can decrease the size of filter icon. Because I have many columns with limited area..
