A software tool for calculating energy efficiency for a variety of industrial and manufacturing applications.

MEASUR helps manufacturers increase industrial energy efficiency at the plant-level and in specific systems. Learn step-by-step ways to identify opportunities, monitor progress, and improve efficiency in any facility. Some tools help facilities implement an energy management system and prepare to become ISO 50001 and Superior Energy Performance certified. Based on older Department of Energy (DOE) tools, the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) has undertaken this effort to refactor the legacy tools into a modern environment.
The suite includes 7 energy system assessment modules, a Data Exploration Module, extensive help text, comprehensive reports, data visualization, and 79 calculators!

MEASUR is a supported application, updates are expected and may impact previously created assessments.
Warnings:

  • Installing v1.0.0 or an earlier version of this tool will automatically reset your app data. Data can be imported into an earlier version from v1.0.0
  • Do not install an earlier version of this tool without resetting your app data (in settings).
  • Assessments created in MEASUR 0.8.0 or later are not compatible with older versions.
  • Exporting from v.0.8.0 and importing to a lower version will continue to work, though new features will not be available.

  • Added: Privacy Disclosure Page and links
  • Added: Help for users experiencing usability or saving issues from browser cookie settings
  • Enhanced: Setup server and connections to collect page view analytics for desktop application
  • Fixed: c3.js was creating an unresolvable error with gauge charts - replaced with Billboard.js
  • Fixed: Example Assessments moved or copied outside of the Example folder will no longer be deleted when resetting examples

Calculators

  • Enhanced: Allow users to enter rated power as kW or hp for Electricity Reduction calculator
  • Fixed: Lookup tables for eGrid emissions factors for zip codes starting with zero (zip codes with the first four digits the same as the last for of zip codes starting with zero were returning the wrong values)
  • Removed: Removed "Slip Method" from Percent Load Estimation Calculator

Data Explorer

  • Added: Ability for daytype analysis to produce daytypes with 15-minute, 30-minute, and 24-hour intervals
  • Added: Additional guidance relating to accepted time stamps and "Map Date and Time"
  • Added: Automatic filtering of time series data to reduce number of points graphed when managing annotations
  • Added: Daytype analysis now provides a "total aggregated" graph/tables, combining user specified data to display the sums of multiple columns.
  • Enhanced: Annotations are set to off automatically for large datasets (though can be turned on by user)
  • Fixed: Issue with annotations disappearing
  • Fixed: Issue relating to last null row in csv files

Compressed Air

  • Added: Additional compressed air network controls for multiple compressors (Trim/Base controls and Isentropic Efficiency Controls)
  • Fixed: Compressor Data from Data Explorer now undergoes validation checks

Pumps

  • Fixed: Margin for the pump head calculator

Process Heating

  • Fixed: Bug in web version of cooling calculator
  • Fixed: Removed Ambient Air Temperature Field from Solid/Liquid Fuel creation calculator

Steam

  • Fixed: Issue in Tank Insulation with modification using incorrect cost value. Modification cost field can now be edited
  • Fixed: Reoccurrence of "Ambient Air Temperature" Field in Stack Loss calculator for Solid/Liquid Fuels

Treasure Hunt

  • Fixed: Bug with Report Graphs not displaying properly

Motor Inventory

  • Updated: Renamed example to "Motor Inventory Example"

Known Issues:

  • The Linux release does not support Auto-updating
  • Renaming an export in Windows Download menu can delete the file extension (.json)
  • Assessments made in a previous major release may experience errors
  • Import files made in a previous major release may not be useable due to field additions/removals
