RiotX allows to create public room without providing a canonical alias and Riot-Web does not allow this:

Also there is an advanced configuration on Riot-Web:

Current RiotX screen:

So:

  • Ensure a canonical alias is set when creating a public room
  • Add a field to let user set a topic
  • Add an advanced settings to prevent federation
  • Disable encryption and hide the setting for public room
